Copenhagen Guitar Duo consists of the guitarists Allan Sjølin and Martin Buono. They met in 2003 as young students at the local music school and have since made their debut in 2015 from the soloist class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. They have played numerous concerts in Denmark and abroad since then. They often collaborate with other musicians such as the oboist Oliver Nordahl , the percussionist Matias Seibæk and the accordionist Bjarke Mogensen , and they often collaborate with composers , such as Anders Koppel , Martin Lohse and Tian Jinglun (China). They are praised for their virtuosity and musicality for example by the Grammy-award winning Brazilian guitarist Sergio Assad: "The Copenhagen Guitar Duo ranks among the finest guitar duets nowadays! Besides the traditional standards of the classical guitar duets they are enlarging the duet repertoire by adding very interesting new works written by Danish composers" , and the Spanish pianist Diego Cayuelas: “..the best interpretation I’ve ever heard..” The Danish press wrote: “..they demonstrated a high level of guitar playing.. ..convincing mastery of Piazzolla’s tango suite”(Holbæk Dagblad) , “with nothing but two guitars , the young musicians created a worldof colors” (Folketidende). They are also prize winners at several chamber music competitions , and they can be heard on three different releases – “Agua e vinho” (2018) , “Works” (2021) and “La Vida Breve” (2024).
